Delamere Forest’s Gruffalo Walk, Delamere

A magical day out where little explorers can follow the Gruffalo trail through the towering pines. Alderley Edge and Wizard Tearooms, Macclesfield

A National Trust gem with sweeping views, woodland paths and plenty of space for kids to roam. The Wizard Tearooms are run by a lovely aunt and niece duo, who host a market every couple of months, which includes a variety of wellness stalls, food vendors, and family friendly events. A brilliant free indoor option for curious minds. Explore Chester’s Roman roots, wander through Victorian rooms and dive into hands on exhibits that keep children of all ages engaged. It's educational without feeling like schoolwork, and perfect for when the British weather takes a turn.

A wholesome countryside experience where families can meet the Alpacas and other various animals, learn about farm life, and enjoy a wander through the fields. A calm, feel good day out that the kids adore.

Wheelock Hall Farm, Sandbach

A long loved, family run farm offering a full day of affordable fun. Explore the garden centre, meet animals in the barn, let the kids loose in the indoor and outdoor play area, and pick up delicious treats for the way home in the farm shop. The summer ‘Maize Maze’ is a huge hit, complete with an optional creature hunt. This site is open daily and perfect for all ages.

A quirky, creative trail celebrating literature across the city of Chester. Spot beautifully illustrates book quotes on buildings and hidden corners. A fun, free way to explore Chester with children while sparking their love of reading. Light, uplifting and great for a gentle wander.

Bates Farm, Warrington

Cheshire’s newest foodie hotspot! With free parking, free entry, rotating food stalls, live music from 1 pm and a super relaxed, dog and child friendly vibe, this location is ideal for a laid-back summer afternoon. Open Friday to Sunday, and it's not just for summer; their autumn pumpkin patch is famous for having some of the most aesthetic pumpkins in the Northwest, with great activities for the colder season.
