The Firs School Chester Celebrates Hello Yellow Day to Support Mental Health Awareness
Pupils and staff at The Firs School Chester joined thousands across the country last Friday in celebrating Hello Yellow Day, an initiative organised by the charity YoungMinds to raise awareness of children’s mental health.
The whole school came together wearing yellow to show support for young people’s wellbeing and to highlight the importance of talking about mental health. Throughout the day, learners took part in age-appropriate activities designed to encourage kindness, positivity, and resilience.
Headteacher David Girvan said: "At The Firs, we are committed to nurturing the whole child, both academically and emotionally. Hello Yellow Day is a powerful way to remind pupils that it’s okay to talk about how they’re feeling, and that support is always available."
The event was filled with smiles, laughter, and a shared commitment to supporting one another and demonstrating the school’s belief in building a caring community where every child can flourish.
