The Firs School Celebrates a Successful ‘Healthy Body, Healthy Minds’ Week Filled with Enriching and Fun Activities

The Firs School in Chester recently celebrated Healthy Body, Healthy Minds week , a dedicated programme aimed at nurturing pupils’ physical health, mental well-being, and emotional development.

The week began with an exciting trip for Infant pupils, where they took part in orienteering challenges that promoted teamwork and active exploration. The visit also included a stop at the cycle museum, where the historic penny farthing bike sparked curiosity and lively discussions among the young learners.

Back at school, the programme continued with a wide range of engaging activities, including:
• Daily mindfulness and reflection sessions
• Nutrition-focused workshops and healthy eating lessons
• Fun physical challenges to encourage fitness and build confidence
• Creative projects that supported emotional expression

“This week was about more than just physical health,” said David Girvan, Headteacher at The Firs School. “We focused on building resilience, self-awareness, and lifelong healthy habits. The pupils embraced every activity with energy and enthusiasm.”

The Healthy Body, Healthy Minds initiative is part of the school’s broader commitment to supporting pupils’ holistic development. With well-being at the heart of its educational ethos, The Firs School continues to ensure that children are equipped to thrive both academically and personally.
