Print designer, Roselle Smeatham, speaks to pupils at The Firs School, Chester

Budding young artists at The Firs School in Chester were recently treated to a visit from Roselle Smeatham, a designer for large high street companies such as Dunelm. Roselle shared with the children her design process and how she created original designs. She then also showed them the final product in the form of pillowcases and duvet covers. The children were even able to spot her designs featured on the Dunelm website! The children all had a go themselves and created some excellent pieces.

Mr Girvan, Head teacher at The Firs School comments: “The children really enjoyed hearing about Roselle’s experience and had lots of questions about how she had got into her career and what she loves about it. They also enjoyed hearing about the process and relished the opportunity to develop some designs of their own using watercolour techniques demonstrated by Roselle in her signature style! Well done to everyone involved and a big thank you to Roselle for giving up her time to share some new skills with us at The Firs School.”
