Christmas Fun at The Firs School, Chester

The children at The Firs School in Chester have been busy in the run up to Christmas. They have taken party in a number of wonderful festive activities including carol singing in Chester Market, Waitrose, Wealstone Court Care Home, a special trip to the Lantern Parade in Chester city centre, and also trips to visit the Christmas trees at Chester Cathedral and Hoole Methodist Church they where they decorated their own special ‘Firs School tree’.

Back in school the children were also tasked in their houses with designing and making a freestanding Christmas Tree using only recycled materials.

The children worked in teams, and everyone had fantastic ideas. They then joined together and discussed the design and making process with their peers and made some brilliant master pieces. .

Mr Girvan, Headteacher at The Firs School Chester comments: At the Firs School we love to learn whilst having fun at the same time and we have had a wonderful couple of weeks in the run up to the Christmas break. We have had two nativity plays and I was so proud of how well our pupils performed and it was wonderful watching them grow in confidence whilst having such a wonderful time too.

Other highlights have included our hugely popular Firs Christmas Fair, a pantomime visit to Theatre Clwyd, family carol singing and our special Christmas carol service we held on the last day of term.”
